Who is Claire Agius Ordway?
Claire Agius Ordway has been working as a producer and presenter on local TV for more than 20 years. Her projects and programmes evolved according to what she was going through her life. She is mum to Matthew 19 years, Lyla 14 years and Jack 12years. Although always busy with working full time to create projects and being mum to three kids she never practiced any sport until she had her third child. It was always a dream she had but always was too lazy to start. After Jack was born she started attending kick boxing lessons with her eldest and that set the ball rolling. She took training seriously and started running to increase endurance and realised that running was truly a passion which was also therapeutical for her. She ran for ten years as she could easily juggle practice before her kids woke up. She managed 3 half and 3 full marathons besides other races. Running a full marathon was a game changer for her as it equipped her with confidence to push herself more.
At the age of 40 she wanted to become stronger and change her body shape and that is where she took her fitness seriously. She started training with a coach to build muscle strength and started seeing the changes. With all the changes happening she decided to start working to promote fitness and encourage as many people to start training. Claire still works full time on tv but a lot of her time is taken by social media too. She promotes gyms, trainers, classes and products which are genuine and can help in one’s journey to a healthier self. She trains 6 times a week and her training consists of weight training, running and functional training mostly.
Training time for her is non-negotiable. It is not a hobby but a necessity in her life. People saw her change physically but most of all mentally throughout these last years and are somehow motivated because they can relate. She is very very passionate about fitness because it has helped her cope through difficult periods in her life and she thinks it can help people mentally even more than physically. She has been studying about fitness and nutrition to be able also to promote wellbeing through her TV programme – REBOOT – which is a programme about how we should eat well, move more and become stronger to aim for a healthier health span. Claire eats, sleeps and breathes fitness, she practices it herself but mainly loves to promote others who can help individuals become stronger and she confesses that she will keep on promoting fitness and is hopeful that some day we will see our obesity rates coming down. She never loses hope as she has lived so many changes and inspiring stories through people who keep in touch with her through her social media. Her motto is to keep evolving and she says that as long she is blessed with strength and energy she will keep encouraging people to move and aim for a better healthy life.
